Hi all, Ed here filling in for the Trailers guy whilst he takes a well earned break, presumably to watch some trailers. Well it's the start of a new year, and we have a whole host of new trailers to look at:
Cinderella:
Because the world needs another fairy-tale re-hash, Disney is bringing us a live-action version of Cinderella, starring Cate Blanchett & Helena Bonham Carter. Whilst I have a huge amount of respect for Kenneth Branagh as an actor, he only seems to direct well when it's a Shakespearean film.
It Follows:
David Robert Mitchell's schlock horror film It Follows looks a little cheesy to me, but no doubt it'll please fans of the genre. Starring Maika Monroe and Keir Gilchrist.
Sand Castles:
Director Clenet Verdi-Rose brings us a film about the return of a now-mute girl to her family, after years in captivity. This has been picking up a few awards at various festivals, including Milan. It looks a little amateur but it has that unique story and indie spirit that you don't find in Hollywood features.
Diamond Tongues:
Another indie film, this 'dramedy' (dramatic comedy) has been shot in a documentary style and certainly looks interesting.
Dragon Blade:
Another indie film, this 'dramedy' (dramatic comedy) has been shot in a documentary style and certainly looks interesting.
Dragon Blade:
Daniel Lee's upcoming film Dragon Blade has one of the largest budgets for a Chinese film. It's not currently slated for release outside of China and Singapore, but with stars like Jackie Chan, John Cusack and Adrien Brody, that will likely change.
Marvel Teasers - Avengers: Age of Ultron & Ant Man:
Here's the trailer for the trailer for the next Avengers movie. Expect a full trailer on January 12.
and, after the backlash from their release yesterday of an 'ant-sized' teaser that nobody could see (*slow clap Marvel *slow clap), here's the first 'human-sized' teaser for Ant Man:
